I like to watch until Scott defeats the first evil ex-boyfriend. So, the first 36 minutes. The second act from there feels pretty flat to me. There’s not really a “rising action” up to a climax. Feels very repetitive. Scott punching video game characters over and over again in elaborate set pieces.
The only character that really has a linear narrative arc in the 2nd act is Knives Chau. She’s the best part of the 2nd act. She gets dumped. She dies her hair blue. She stalks Scott. She stalks Ramona. She starts dating Young Neil. She fights Ramona.
I love the first 30 minutes of Scott Pilgrim. I've watched it so many times. I always lose interest after evil ex-boyfriend #2 is defeated.
Oh, interesting. Can you nail down what changes for you?

Rubin and Ed is the best. Thanks for bringing back the watermelon and cat memories. It does comedy like Do the Right Thing does social justice.
Harris should add that quote to the box.
